Course Introduction:

The purpose of the foundation qualification is to confirm that a candidate has sufficient knowledge of the contents and high level requirements of the ISO/IEC 20000 standard, and understands at a foundation level how the standard operates in a typical IT service provider organization. Possession of the foundation certificate is also one of the possible pre-requisites for the practitioner qualification.

Course Description:

The candidate should understand the scope, objectives, key terminology and high level requirements of the ISO/IEC 20000 standard, how it is used in a typical IT service provider organization, together with the main elements of the certification process. You will learn to:

  • Understand: Background of the ISO/IEC 20000 standard, Terms and definitions in the ISO/IEC20000 standard
  • Understand and describe: Scope and purpose of ISO/IEC 20000 Part 1, Requirements for an IT service management system contained in Part 1
  • Understand and describe: Scope and purpose of ISO/IEC 20000 Code of Practice (Part 2), Applicability and scope, Roles of Process Owners and Practitioners in preparing for certification, Process reviews, assessments and audits, Registered Certification Body (RCB) audit process

  • Assist and advise organizations in the achievement of conformance to ISO/IEC 20000-1 and certification
